Why Choose Us?
At Sprouting Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, every visit is designed to help your child flourish. Our approach is rooted in compassion, prevention, and comfort, so your little one can build healthy habits and positive feelings about dental care from the start.
We focus on protecting natural smiles whenever possible. Our team emphasizes prevention first and recommends treatment only when it supports your child’s long-term oral health.
Children do better when they feel comfortable. That is why our office is designed to feel cheerful, modern, and welcoming for kids and parents.
Every child grows at their own pace. Dr. Wendy and the team keep your child’s age, comfort level, personality, and developmental stage in mind during each visit.
If your child feels anxious, shy, or unsure about the dentist, we take the time to help them feel calm. Our goal is to uproot dental fears and create positive dental memories.
Clear communication matters. Sprouting Smiles proudly supports families in English, Spanish, and Mandarin to help every parent feel informed and included.
Our team provides patient, compassionate care for children with special healthcare needs, sensory sensitivities, developmental differences, and unique comfort needs.
Born and raised in sunny Southern California, Dr. Wendy Yang, board-certified pediatric dentist, studied at the University of California, Los Angeles, where her passion for dentistry blossomed. After earning her MS in Oral Biology at UCLA, she earned her DDS at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and later attended the University of California, San Francisco for Pediatric Residency.
Dr. Wendy has a nurturing heart and believes in kind, quality care for every child. Her San Diego practice stems from a posture of compassion and empathy to provide your little one with the most positive dental experience possible. Her greatest reward is allaying dental fears and inspiring children to grow a lifelong love for their budding smiles, so you can rest knowing your little one is in caring hands.

Sprouting Smiles provides pediatric dental care for every stage of your child’s smile. From routine checkups to urgent dental needs, our services are designed to keep budding smiles healthy, comfortable, and growing strong.
At Sprouting Smiles, it’s our privilege to serve children with special needs. We understand that pediatric dentistry is best performed with joy and compassion. That's why we strive to be a trusted resource and practitioner for your family in San Diego. Our goal is your child's comfort.
Great oral health starts with preventive care. With regular cleanings, we can clear out any hard to reach sugar-bugs and bacteria hiding in the nooks and crannies of your child’s teeth, while our exams help us stay on the look out for any potential oral health problems.
When your child’s smile is in need of repair, the team at Sprouting Smiles offers gentle treatment to keep budding smiles healthy. From minimally invasive restorative treatments, to simple fillings or stainless steel crowns and pulpotomies, we can help kids get back on track with their oral health.
Dental emergencies can feel scary, especially when your child is in pain. Sprouting Smiles offers same-day emergency dental care whenever possible for toothaches, broken teeth, knocked-out teeth, oral injuries, swelling, and bleeding.
Some children need extra support to feel relaxed during dental treatment, and that is completely okay. Sprouting Smiles offers sedation dentistry to help children with dental anxiety, special needs, longer appointments, or treatment needs feel more comfortable.
Tongue ties and lip ties can affect feeding, speech, oral movement, and comfort. Dr. Wendy provides frenectomy treatment to help release restricted tissue and support better function. This care may be helpful for babies and children who struggle with breastfeeding, latch, speech concerns, or limited tongue/lip movement.
