Dr. Wendy will perform a comprehensive dental exam to ensure your child's teeth grow to be healthy and strong.
X-Rays help our team discover potential issues in the development of your child's teeth before they become larger problems. They also help to check their growth and development.
We'll give your child professional dental cleanings twice a year as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. It's an important step to keeping a healthy smile.

Born and raised in sunny Southern California, Dr. Wendy Yang, board-certified pediatric dentist, studied at the University of California, Los Angeles, where her passion for dentistry blossomed. After earning her MS in Oral Biology at UCLA, she earned her DDS at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and later attended the University of California, San Francisco for Pediatric Residency.
Dr. Wendy has a nurturing heart and believes in kind, quality care for every child. Her San Diego practice stems from a posture of compassion and empathy to provide your little one with the most positive dental experience possible. Her greatest reward is allaying dental fears and inspiring children to grow a lifelong love for their budding smiles, so you can rest knowing your little one is in caring hands.
If your child is under 2 years old, their first exam is complimentary. At Sprouting Smiles, we know that the earlier a child starts dental care, the more comfortable they'll feel at the dentist's office and the healthier their smiles will be. Start good habits early with a free exam for your infant.

After your child’s first visit at Sprouting Smiles, Dr. Wendy will discuss a treatment plan tailored to your little one. Since regular cleanings every six months are the foundation for healthy smiles, we'll schedule those first. These consistent dental visits will help us get to know your child and understand their oral habits, so we can better care for their smile. If any care outside of prevention is required, we'll discuss that treatment plan with parents and schedule those appointments as necessary.
Many insurance plans cover dental care for children, and you can absolutely use your insurance benefits at Sprouting Smiles! Just keep in mind that if you use insurance at your child's first appointment, you won't be able to take advantage of our $99 New Patient Special.
You will be given an accurate cost estimate of any necessary dental work up front. As long as your child is a first time patient at Sprouting Smiles and you don't use your insurance benefits, your family can take advantage of our $99 new patient special. Also, exams for children under 2 years of age are complimentary!
